Civil Rights Litigation

The defense of constitutional and civil rights claims is a complicated area of law that demands experienced and competent legal representation. Constitutional claims often involve circumstances affecting freedom of religion, freedom of speech, freedom of the press, freedom of assembly, freedom from unreasonable searches and seizures, freedom from cruel and unusual punishment, right to due process of law, and right to equal protection of the laws. Civil rights claims often involve some type of discriminatory treatment based on age, sex, race, ethnicity, or disability.

Lanier Ford regularly defends businesses in lawsuits alleging violations of civil rights. But Lanier Ford also regularly assists governmental entities (such as cities, counties, school boards, and utilities) and their officers and employees by defending them against claims of violating constitutional rights and civil rights.
