Seminar about employer responsibilities under the Americans With Disabilities Act

On October 20, 2017, Lanier Ford attorney Lauren Smith led a lunch-and-learn seminar about employer responsibilities under the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA).

This presentation provided an overview of the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA), as amended. Attendees learned—

  1. What constitutes a covered employer, qualified individual, and actual disability under the ADA.
  2. How to identify and prevent discrimination and harassment based on disability, perceived disability, or association with a disabled individual.
  3. How to engage in the interactive process and assess whether an employee may be reasonably accommodated.
