George Knox becomes member of the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel
On July 16, 2015, the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel (FDCC) announced that Lanier Ford attorney George E. Knox, Jr., had been selected for membership.
To become a member of the FDCC, an attorney must be selected for membership by the FDCC board of directors. Members must have high professional standing and be of good moral character. For a practicing lawyer to be eligible for nomination, he or she must devote a substantial amount of professional time to the representation of insurance companies, insurance associations, corporations, or others in the defense of civil litigation and have been a member of the bar for at least 8 years. (There is a different set of qualifications for corporate counsel to be members of the organization.)
Membership is limited and is currently only 1,400, but includes attorneys from the United States, Australia, Canada, Europe, Puerto Rico, and other areas.
The FDCC’s goals involve knowledge, justice, and fellowship. The organization enhances knowledge by providing high-quality continuing legal education programs at least twice a year, as well as providing seminars for corporate counsel and insurance professionals. The organization promotes justice through actively participating in cases that raise issues of major significance to our legal system by filing friend-of-the-court briefs. Finally, the organization promotes fellowship at its annual meetings by recognizing the value of friendship and camaraderie.
Mr. Knox is a civil trial attorney who defends professionals and business organizations in cases involving professional liability, personal injury, wrongful death, and products liability. He also has experience in litigating commercial and contract disputes. In addition to being a member of the FDCC, he is a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and an associate of the American Board of Trial Advocates. He has been selected by his peers for inclusion in the medical-malpractice section of Best Lawyers in America since 2007.
