Lauren Smith speaks on False Claims Act

Lauren Smith will be speaking on November 14, 2019, at a meeting of the North Alabama Chapter of the Federal Bar Association. The 3-day meeting is on the subjects of labor law, employment law, Federal government contracting, and other issues related to Government acquisition.

Ms. Smith will be speaking on the Federal False Claims Act (FCA), with a focus on retaliation claims that whistleblowers may file.

Ms. Smith’s practice is centered on business litigation and employment law. She has litigated matters arising under the FCA. She has also represented parties in lawsuits involving 42 U.S.C. § 1983, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

In addition to practicing law, Ms. Smith also serves as Lanier Ford’s corporate president.
