Chris Pape shares insights about school law with national audience
On October 27, 2020, Lanier Ford attorney Christopher Pape participated as a panelist in a virtual seminar about inclusion policies and practices to advance racial and educational justice. Broadcast nationally, the seminar discussed antidiscrimination laws, regulations, and policies that affect the education of public school students, student safety, student behaviors, and student discipline. In particular, Mr. Pape shared his insights into racial equity learned from his school desegregation practice.
The seminar was designed to provide continuing legal education for members of the Council of School of Attorneys (COSA), part of the National School Boards Association (NSBA).
As part of his practice, Mr. Pape regularly advises numerous school systems in north and central Alabama about various education policies, school desegregation, employment law, and constitutional issues, among other subjects. He was recently elected vice president of the Alabama Council of School Board Attorneys.
